The original intention of the Skate Mac was to do timed downhill runs at speed, but a high centre of gravity and a lot of weight means that the slightest bump in a smooth road will end your run, confining the small wheeled Pro Stock cases to skateparks.
To get the downhill speed we seek and to hopefully get the Mac off the road entirely and onto some grass and woodland slopes, we propose a new class, Pro Mod.
The axles will have to be significantly wider to cope with the high centre of gravity and we'll need bigger wheels, preferably with soft tyres. BMX wheels are good, but a bit too big so we're trying to get hold of a child-size BMX with 8/9 inch wheels or, ideally, the rear wheels of a kids' tricycle, complete with the axle, but they would have to be strong or be reinforced.
* We currently have a Graphite and a Mirror-Door G4 case to use, but it looks like the Mirror-Door is the best bet as its that bit more sturdy.

In this new decade the old PowerPC Macs have become a little obsolete... | Don't throw yours in the bin. |
