This is the SkateMac - the brand new extreme-sport sensation that's about to take the nation's skateparks by storm...
They're very cheap, easy to build and 100% carbon-neutral, so if you're a creative sort who knows a few skaters, which I'm guessing you are if you have an old Powermac case lying around, then have a go at building one and lets see what they can do!
Unlike the MOTO G4 bikes, all you need is to bolt on any old set of skateboard trucks and your Mac is away. This means that you don't even have to remove the computer hardware. Who needs a laptop when you never have to carry your Powermac again? Or only UP hills at the least. If you do take the innards out then the opening side-door provides an excellent storage area for your helmet, some candles to wax the grind rail or a sandwich, I don't know.
Yes, they do work and yes, we do believe it's possible to pull tricks on these things, but they're heavy and you're sitting way off the ground, so balance is the biggest obstacle to overcome. We've messed around in our local council skatepark, but the big ones in our area won't let the Mac anywhere near them, so we're going to have to come to an agreement somehow as we need to get on some bigger, longer ramps to get the speed up.
More on the way!
