In this new decade the old PowerPC Macs have become a little obsolete... Don't throw yours in the bin.
Join in and help support this rapidly expanding new extreme sport by turning your ancient Mac case into a mean-wheeled speed machine! You may be surprised at just how fast your old G3/G4 Powermac can still go and the range of different event classes afford a project to suit every budget, big or small! With the Pro-Stock, Pro-Mod, MOTO G4 and SUPER MOTO G4 series to choose from, it's no wonder that this is the most exciting computer-chassis-based motorsport and downhill skating league in the WORLD!!

MOTO G4

MOTO G4 is the art of sticking a 50cc 2-stroke engine into the bowels of a defunct Apple-Macintosh case to give it back the wings taken from it by Intel. We produced our first test vehicle, Project Buran, in late 2009, as a brief insight into our plans and are hoping others will follow suit and help us push the speed / time / distance record for Mac case racing and get some healthy competition on the go!!

History and future plans...

We built Buran as a quick design exercise, based on a shoddy mini-moto and had obtained a second mini-bike with the intention of chopping it up and creating something more true to the original design, with larger handlebars from a Raleigh Chopper type bicycle, but a change in living arrangements soon put an end to the whole project and meant we never even quite finished the Buran superbike.

It was just about running at the time and rode great once we'd given the back tyre enough clearance, but we never got round to making a film and once the bike had been stored over winter the engine wouldn't go again. It's difficult to find anywhere safe to ride and as such, the second moto has now been sold on.

I resurrected Buran briefly over the summer to add modifications to the bike for another project [in this post] and this was the final blow, as it will now needs parts to ever work again, but is back to its best in the looks department at least, so it may just become a museum piece...

FEAR NOT!   A brand new MOTO G4 is already on its way in the shape of Project Orion!

A friend of mine recently offered me a mini quad-bike for just £50 and, thinking always of the MG4 series, I couldn't turn him down. It's a great runner and the engine, although still only 50cc 2-stroke, has been modified to pack a serious punch and it goes like stink!

Yes, I now what you're thinking and we're thinking the same thing - Mac Pro Quad!!

We've still got a few G4 cases in our Apple silo, but this project has to be based on a Mac Pro doesn't it? So we're holding out until we've got our hands on a lovely G5 case, which are identical in shape and size to the Pro and are a lot cheaper to buy. We're on the hunt for any G5 case for under £50, in any condition [shout us if you have one in UK North West], so stay tuned for by far the most awesome MOTO G4 superbike to date... although I'm dubious about storing the quad over winter >.<
